13 brilliant kitchen hacks that most people haven’t heard of. Cooking just got easier

For some of us, being in the kitchen isn’t our favorite thing. Eating… YES! But all the cooking, the cleaning, and the storing… not the most fun.

So, knowing a few tricks helps to make it more bearable.

Here are some kitchen hacks that will make your time in the kitchen a lot easier.

Basted Eggs

To make the perfect basted egg, break your eggs in a pan like you’re going to fry them. Add some water to your pan and place it on the heater. The eggs come out amazingly with liquid yolk.

Keep Brown Sugar Soft

Prevent brown sugar from clumping up and hardening by placing an orange peel or apple slice inside of the bag which should be stored in an airtight container.

Shine Stainless Steel

Make your stainless steel shine like new by washing it with a solution of vinegar and water. You can even soak the item if there aren’t any metal or electronic parts.

Remove Seeds from Vegetables

Use an ice cream scooper to easily remove seeds from vegetables.

Salt for Cast Iron Pans

Scrub your cast iron pan with salt instead of dish soap. This will prevent your pan from rusting over time.

Stop Microwave Dryness

Prevent food from getting dried out in the microwave when you reheat it by placing a cup of water next to your piece of food in the microwave.

Salt for Wooden Cutting Boards

You can get your wooden chopping board free from food residue and smells by rubbing it with coarse salt and let it sit there for 10 to 15 minutes. Then, wipe it down with a lemon.

Pit Cherries

Place a cherry on top of an empty bottle and use a chopstick to squeeze the pit out of the cherry and into the bottle.

Keep Plastic Wrap Cold

Keep your plastic wrap in the refrigerator. This will ensure that it stretches evenly and doesn’t rip.

Parchment Paper Cupcakes

If you don’t have a muffin tin or cupcake cups or molds, you can use parchment paper instead.

Peel Fruit

Place fruit in the microwave for 20 seconds and it will be much easier to peel. The peel should slide right off.

Preserve Herbs

Freeze fresh herbs in water or olive oil inside of an ice tray to preserve them.

Prevent Boil Over

Place a wooden spoon over the top of your boiling pot to prevent the water from boiling over and making a mess.
