Some people clean their bed sheets every week, but often people forget to clean the mattress. In fact, mattresses are also important to be cleaned and to do so you should avoid using conventional products because they contain chemicals and bleach that could be harmful for your health.
If you use these conventional products you might put your health at danger and these chemicals could accumulate in the body over time and cause respiratory and inflammatory problems. Instead you should use hydrogen peroxide which is great solution for disinfecting the mattress and eliminating stains.
Make sure that you use 3% concentrated hydrogen peroxide.
Here is how to clean the mattress with this solution:
Here is what you need:
- Baking soda – 3 tablespoon
- 3% hydrogen peroxide – 1 cup
- Rubber gloves
- Liquid soap – 1 drop
- Stainless take bowl
- Spray bottle
You will need to put the gloves and mix the hydrogen and baking soda. Once the baking soda has dissolved you will need to add the liquid soap and mix it well. Put this liquid in the spray bottle and use the mixture. Spray this mixture on the stains and let the foam work until it is completely dry. Once it has dried you should vacuum the mattress in order to remove the baking soda residue.
If you have stubborn stains you will need to prepare a paste consistent of ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and salt. Use this mixture and rub the stain, and leave it until it dries. Next you should vacuum the residue and if there are left stains use white rag dipped into hydrogen peroxide.
Make sure that you clean your mattress at least once in 4 month, and don’t forget to vacuum regularly. It is best if you purchase waterproof mattress cover in order to prevent stains and allergens contamination.
