Two sisters in Scotland gave birth at the same hospital on the same day, but neither knew the other was even there.
According to the Mirror, Michelle Flynn and Siobhan Murray both welcomed baby girls at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital last Thursday.
While Michelle, 35, went into labor a week early, her younger sister Siobhan, 32, was actually already a week overdue.
Michelle and her husband Dave, 45, had no idea that Siobhan was even at the hospital until after their daughter was born, when the midwives heard them talking about her.
“After our daughter was born, Michelle joked she’d never hear the end of it because Siobhan was a week overdue,” Dave said. “The midwife team couldn’t believe it when she mentioned her name and told us she was two doors down in the delivery suite.”
Senior charge midwife Gaynor Bird later said the hospital staff had never seen anything like this before.
“It’s rare we have two sisters giving birth on the same day,” she said.
While Michelle and Dave have already decided to name their healthy baby girl Maria, Siobhan and her husband are still trying to come up with the perfect name for their adorable daughter.
