One Iowa family is in need of prayers, after they discovered a tick on their tiny child’s body. After a family vacation in which the children were running and playing outside, two-month-old Jett’s mother noticed a tick on her son.
After a few days, Jett began to exhibit symptoms of illness.
“There was a tick on his shoulder right here. It looked like a little skin tag.” She removed the tick, but 10 days later, something horrible appeared on his skin.
“It was a very very faint ring. And I called my husband in to look at it. I said, do you see what I see?’”
Jett contracted a fever of 103, and this point the family rushed him to the hospital. There, he was diagnosed with lyme disease. He is out of the hospital now, but his family is warning other parents.
So no one had to go through what we went through.”
They warn other parents to “check your kids for ticks, check yourself, check your pets.”
“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
